Jalon D. Chatmon

Jalon D. Chatmon, owner, proprietor and funeral director in charge of Peaceful Rest Funeral Home, was born and raised in Rayville, Louisiana. He is a 2016 graduate of Rayville High School. In September of 2017, Jalon received his Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas. After graduating, he worked as an Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer at Richardson Funeral Home. Upon successful completion of his apprenticeship, Jalon received his Funeral Director’s License in 2021. He's now studying for his Embalming examination. Jalon is married to the lovely, Mrs. Bobbi Gabrielle Chatmon and they have two beautiful daughters, Zion and Jayla.

In July 2015, Jalon began employment with Tennant Funeral Home where he faithfully served for 4 years, from 2015 to 2019. May of 2019, Jalon began working for Coca Cola where he served as a Lead Merchandiser for 4 years. While working at Coca Cola, he was also serving as an Apprentice at Richardson Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Louisiana. under Mr. Burnell Richardson. 

On September 26, 2023, Jalon founded Peaceful Rest Funeral Home in Rayville, Louisiana where their motto is, "Service That Brings Peace In The Time Of Grief."
