RC Sanders, Jr. was born to the late RC Sanders, Sr. and Etta Autman Jones on November 27, 1955, in Monroe, La. He went to his heavenly home May 20, 2025, at his residence.
RC Sanders, Jr. attended school at Jones Chapel in the early years. Later he attended Eula D. Britton School and then graduated from Rayville High School in 1974. He joined church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Leo Reed, Jones Chapel Baptist Church.
He was a faithful servant of the Lord. He loved attended church and serving the church community. He served as the Senior Trustee of the Board at Jones Chapel Baptist Church.
RC was well known and loved by everyone he came in contact with. He was widely known for serving on the Rayville Police Department for over 20 years, in addition to being able to diagnose and fix any mechanical issue or weld any piece of equipment you brought before him. His hobbies included fishing, collecting guns, and spending time with his grandchildren. His laugh was infectious, and he was never too busy, night or day, to help anyone that would call or knock on his door.
He was preceded in death by his father RC Sanders, Sr. and his two brothers: Michael Anthony Sanders and Bobby James Sanders.
RC leaves to cherish his memories: His wife of 48 years, Hazel Bishop Sanders; his children: Reginald C. Sanders of Austin, TX, Deserae Sanders Wood (Koji) of Enterprise, AL, Christopher Sanders of Rayville, La and Romeisha Sanders of Rayville, La; his mother, Etta Autumn Jones; his sister, Linda Sanders Jones; one brother, Darren Lee Sanders along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
